New Member Spotlight - Teri Klug

Teri Klug joined the family of Big-D Companies as their National Business Development Director in May 2023. In this role, she brings an extensive background in economic development, site selection, and real estate expertise, to the company. She has represented the company across the nation, hosting special events, client interactions, staffing retreats, and assisted clients with community relations, and helped solve supply chain solutions and staffing shortages, and strategically identified areas for future growth and changing marketplaces.
Before joining Big-D, Teri was Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Cato Digital, where she built partnerships and was certified as a Data Center Management Professional. She also founded and led Strategic Development LLC, a consulting firm focused on business creation and expansion. At the Economic Development Corporation of Utah, Teri oversaw IT, Energy, Finance, and Aerospace Clusters, creating over 17,000 jobs and adding billions in capital investment into Utah.
Prior to returning to Utah in 2009, Teri lived in Richmond, Virginia, where she served as President and Founder of Bronte Productions, an in-house consultancy firm specializing in tax credit incentives, real estate development, and business development. While there, she was deeply intrenched in community and economic development, working with real estate developers and architecture firms to identify new project development. While in Virginia, she also served the Urban Land Institute as a Member of the Executive Committee and creator of the Young Leader’s Program. She is licensed in real estate, and successfully completed CCIM Financial Analysis many years ago. She currently serves on the Board of Governors for ChamberWest, Odgen/Weber Chamber of Commerce, IMasons Women’s Initiative, leads the ULI Utah Programs Committee, is the incoming Chair for the 2025, Utah Heart Challenge with the American Heart Association and is an Honorary Commander at Hill Air Force Base.
She is a graduate of the University of Utah and has served on the Salt Lake City Transportation and Planning Committee and the Salt Lake County Board of Adjustment. Many years ago, she was a professional ice skater and skated in Europe with Katarina Witt. Lately, Teri enjoys a love for the outdoors, skiing, golf, and has completed 7 Marathons and 1 Half Ironman.
